Linear tracks what needs to happen. Areca is where you decide when.
It reads the issues assigned to you, shows them in one list, and lets you drag them onto a calendar to plan your day. Nothing in your team's workflow changes. You just get a personal view on top of it.
The mental model
Linear is the source of truth for your team — the backlog, the statuses, the sprint. Areca sits on top of it and answers a different question: not what to do, but when you'll do it.

Your issues never leave Linear. Areca reads them, and when you change something — a status, a due date — it writes that one change back. Everything else, including how you lay out your week on the calendar, stays personal to you.
Areca is personal, not team
There's no shared board and nothing for your teammates to adopt. Areca only ever touches the issues assigned to you, and your calendar is yours alone.

What Areca doesn't do
Being clear about the edges is part of keeping it simple:
- It isn't a replacement for Linear. Roadmaps, projects, team boards, and comments all stay in Linear.
- It doesn't schedule work for you. You place issues on the calendar; Areca keeps them there.
- It doesn't touch issues that aren't assigned to you.
